OSSM prepared me for a petroleum engineering undergraduate program which helped me start my first semester of college as a sophomore and have a higher GPA after that first semester.   (See more of Tyler’s story HERE!)

Being at OSSM can be challenging. Natalie believes that students must have grit to persevere through difficult times and make it to good ones. “I chose OSSM because the education is so much more challenging than the one I could have received elsewhere.” Career Goal: General Surgeon

OSSM has opened more doors for me than I ever imagined possible. OSSM has had a life-changing impact on the trajectory of my future.

OSSM has provided me with a community and education I could not have achieved at my home high school. The friendships I have made at OSSM will last a lifetime and the academics have prepared me for a successful career. OSSM has also allowed me to grow as a person. Being at OSSM has made me a kinder, more resilient, and more well-rounded person. I wouldn’t trade this experience for anything.

Through the rigorous academics offered, OSSM has allowed me to feel well-prepared for college and beyond. OSSM has presented students with many opportunities that would not be available to them at their traditional home high schools. Students of OSSM become a tight-knit community, and [although] we have switched [temporarily] to virtual learning due to COVID-19, faculty has continued to work towards keeping the same academic standards for students.

OSSM not only allowed me to mature and develop important life skills, it gave me a community of people (friends and faculty) whose influence will stick with me for the rest of my life.  Remembering all the hard physics problems, long labs and random study sessions in the mezzanine, I realize all the fun I had and I’m truly happy to be a part of something so special.

OSSM is an amazing institution with unmatched academics as well as faculty and staff that only want the very best for each and every student.  OSSM has pushed me to do my best both in academics and in my everyday endeavors.  The relationships I have made here are definitely going to last my whole life and I couldn’t be more grateful for the experience of attending this amazing school.

Attending OSSM has given me a support group in the form of fellow students turned family.  The small class size, amiable environment, and awesome faculty has set the bar that all future education will be measured against.  

OSSM has changed my life because it challenged me academically as student. Growing up, I wasn’t the smartest nor the best at academics, but I enjoy a good challenge because it conditions my commitment and perseverance. In addition, OSSM gave me close relationship with other like-minded individuals, living and learning with each other.

Through OSSM I have gained a better understanding of other cultures, a confidence in what I do even if I fail, and I now know more about what talents I have and how I can use them to achieve my dreams.  OSSM really has helped me mature and see what I can give back to others.
