For Trapper Johnson of Welch, Oklahoma, the challenge of OSSM first drew him in, but the faculty support is what keeps him going. At OSSM, he has found professors who care deeply about their students, each paired with an advisor who provides daily academic guidance.
Alongside his rigorous coursework, Trapper interns with the Oklahoma Historical Society, researching the history of civil rights in Oklahoma, and plans to pursue a legal career. “It’s hard now so it can be easier later,” he said. “Having that idea and hope has pushed me to finish this out.”

“I could teach in a million University classrooms across the country, and I would never get to be a part of the same kind of magic I get to be apart of here.”
